The Perth & District Union Public Library will be hosting a virtual talk with Shelley Ball (PhD), author of the newly released “Lyme Disease, Ticks and You: A Guide to Navigating Tick Bites, Lyme Disease and Other Tick-Borne Infections.“ This virtual event will be held Thursday, May 6th at 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Dr. Shelley Ball is a scientist, photographer, and the Founder and President of Biosphere Environmental Education, a social enterprise focused on connecting people with nature. Living in Westport, ON, Dr. Shelley Ball has firsthand knowledge of the rampant tick population in this area.
In her virtual presentation, Dr. Ball will discuss her new book, “Lyme Disease, Ticks and You,” to help educate attendees about ticks, bite prevention, the science behind Lyme disease and what to do if you suspect you might have a tick-borne infection. Dr. Ball will answer audience questions at the end of her presentation. What better way to honour Lyme Awareness Month and prepare for a safe and enjoyable summer spent outdoors?
