Celebrate the third annual I Read Canadian Day on November 2,2022 at the Perth & District Union Public Library. Meet renowned Canadian local author Amanda West Lewis who will visit and share a presentation followed by a discussion.
I Read Canadian Day is a national day of celebration of Canadian books for young people. This is a day dedicated to ‘reading Canadian’ and will empower families, schools, libraries and organizations to host local activities and events within the week.
Amanda West Lewis is an author, theatre creator, calligrapher and teaching artist.
Amanda is the author of 8 books for young people ranging from craft books to historical novels. She has an MFA in Writing for Children and Youth from Vermont College of Fine Arts, where she also did a specialized Picture Book Intensive. A member of the Writers Guild of Canada, Canscaip, and SCBWI, Amanda lives with her husband, writer Tim Wynne-Jones, outside of Perth Ontario. They have 3 grown children who are a constant source of joy and inspiration.
The event will begin at 4:00 pm and is best suited for booklovers ages 8 and up. Admission is free and includes some fun activities.
